1968 Quarters for Rehabilitated leprosy patients opened
1974 X-ray Unit Opened
1976 M.P.H.W.(F) Training school Started
1976 Infectious diseases ward Opened
1980 Out patient Department Remodeled
1986 Handloom Unit started
1988 Multi Drugs treatment for Leprosy implemented
1995 Skin Clinic started
1995 Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program implemented
1995 Community Eye Care program started
1996 Renovation of the Medical and Maternity Ward
1996 Ultra Sound Scan Unit Started
2000 Our Hospital has been recognized by the TamilNadu Government as Microscopic Centre for RNTCP
2002 Tiruchy Urban Leprosy Eradication Program implemented
2005 Self Help Groups started for Leprosy, TB and HIV patients
2006 TANSACS, Chennai – Recognized ICTC started
2006 Renovation and Extension of OP block
2006 Day Care Centre started
2008 Self Help Groups for Women, HIV, TB and Leprosy affected patients
2008 APAC-VHS-USAID – Project SAATHII recognized our hospital as Nakshatra hospital for STD/ HIV / AIDS care and support.
2009 Ln.Rev.Fr.P.Thangasamy, M.A., B.Ed., B.Th., was appointed as the first Director of this hospital
2009 Dental and ENT clinic started
2010 Our hospital has been named as Sagayamatha Medical Centre (SMC)

Beneficiary population

We have selected 202 villages with 5,00,000 population to provide health care activities which have spread in 4 blocks namely Pullambadi, Thirumanur, Lalgudi and Mannachanallur situated in Tiruchy and Ariyalur Districts.
